VILLAGE SURVEY

2018

Kadathur village of Tirupur district was selected for the village survey of semester III, where the village was surveyed and studied for the historical development, economical growth, housing types, social structure, and future development as a part of the curriculum.

2019

Mallankuli village of Erode district was selected for the village survey of semester III, where the village was surveyed and studied for the historical development, economical growth, housing types, social structure, and future development as a part of the curriculum.

 

INDUCTION

2019 – 2020

RSOAD conducted a welcome program with a general introduction about the student and campus life at Rathinam. Inspiring guests from varied streams of our industry addressing about the need and responsibilities of an architect towards the society was top-notch moment. Queries and hesitations from the parents regarding the course and management facilities were answered by the RSOAD faculties.

Rathinam School of Architecture & Design (RSOAD) is now an institutional member of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). This membership strengthens our commitment to sustainable architecture, providing students with access to green building resources, certifications, and industry best practices, empowering them to design eco-friendly, energy-efficient structures for a sustainable future.​

MOU

WITH ISHRAE​

Rathinam School of Architecture & Design (RSOAD) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE). This partnership enhances our students’ learning experience by offering industry insights, technical training, and workshops on HVAC systems, promoting energy-efficient building design and sustainable practices.​

WORLD ARCHITECTURE DAY​

As part of World Architecture Day 2024, students visited the Saravanampatti area to study the building materials used for shop fronts. They analyzed the quality and sustainability of materials and interacted with shopkeepers. Through these discussions, students raised awareness about the benefits of using better, more durable, and sustainable building materials​

ARCHITECTURE DOCUMENTATION​

Students visited Podanur Church for an architectural documentation exercise, where they conducted measured drawings and photography to explore its unique architectural elements. This hands-on experience allowed them to study the church’s structure, design details, and historical significance, deepening their understanding of architectural styles and techniques through direct observation and analysis.​

KOVAI ART VIZHA​

Students from Rathinam School of Architecture & Design (RSOAD) showcased their creativity by participating in the Art Installation Competition at Kovai Art Vizha. Their innovative designs stood out, earning them prestigious awards and recognition. This achievement reflects the students’ artistic vision and dedication, enhancing the institution’s reputation for fostering creative talent.​

ONE BRICK AT A TIME​

Rathinam School of Architecture & Design (RSOAD) organized a hands-on brick workshop led by Ar. Ashams Ravi from COSTFORD. The workshop provided students with practical insights into sustainable construction techniques using brick masonry. It fostered a deeper understanding of cost-effective, eco-friendly building methods, aligning with RSOAD’s focus on sustainable architectural practices.​

SITE VISIT​

Students from Rathinam School of Architecture & Design (RSOAD) recently participated in a construction site visit aimed at understanding structural systems in real-world contexts. This hands-on experience allowed them to observe various construction techniques, materials, and structural components, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application and enhancing their architectural learning.​

prestigious Design Ideas Competition

Our students of 4th Year (Batch-2021) proudly participated in the prestigious Design Ideas Competition organized by the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) on the occasion of World Architecture Day.
Their hard work and talent were duly recognized as several of our students won notable awards and cash prizes in the competition. These accolades were presented by two esteemed dignitaries Thiru. Ganapathy Rajkumar.P, honorable Member of Parliament, and Thiru. Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS, Coimbatore City Commissioner, at a prestigious award ceremony. The recognition not only brought immense pride to our students but also underscored the quality of education and guidance they receive at our institution and excellence in the field of architecture.

Onam Celebration

The Onam celebration at Rathinam @Kovilpalayam Campus was a grand affair, marked by the vibrant and joyful event titled "Ajagajantharam." The festival brought the essence of Kerala’s rich culture to life, allowing students and staff to experience the traditional charm of this beloved harvest festival.

As part of the Onam festivities, the campus was adorned with colorful Pookkalams (floral designs), representing the beauty and spirit of the festival. The celebration kicked off with traditional Onam Sadhya, a feast served on banana leaves, offering an authentic culinary experience with an array of Kerala dishes.

Ajagajantharam featured a wide variety of cultural events, including traditional performances like Thiruvathira and Pulikali, which captivated the audience. The day was also filled with fun competitions, games, and team activities, all aimed at fostering a sense of unity and joy among participants.

BLUEPRINT BEGININGS

Centre Of Excellence & Live-Lab For Smart City Development

To address the evolving needs and emerging trends in hundreds of smart cities development projects around the world, Rathinam School of Architecture has set up a “Centre of Excellence & Live Lab for Smart Cities Development” within the college premises.

In addition to carrying out smart cities related consulting, Incubation, and Testing activities, this center will also serve as a platform for students to explore new possibilities. This puts them above their peers with a hands-on experience in planning, designing, and executing extensive projects while learning their academic program.

Placement & Training Cell

The placement & training cell takes the right steps in identifying the current industrial demands and prepares the students in acquiring their dream jobs. Students are gradually inducted into placement activities right from their second academic year.

The placement & training cell is headed and coordinated by the Placement Officer, Principal, HR Consultants, Industry Experts, HR Managers, Head of the Departments, and other active members.

Reinforcing Entrepreneurship at RSOAD

Rathinam Group is a pioneer in creating conducive space for innovation, startups, and entrepreneurship. It is one of the 35 institutes across India to be selected as the center for the first phase of ATAL Innovation Mission (2018). It has already launched several successful social startups like No Food WasteEdudharmaCity Sence, and Cipher Labs.

ATAL Incubation Centre (AIC) is an initiative under the ATAL Innovation Mission (AIM) of NITI AAYOG, which encourages and reinforces innovative startups by providing supporting amenities in terms of infrastructure, resources, and indisputable mentoring ecosystem.

Rathinam, with its existing formal tie-up with EDII (Govt. of India), is highly adept to provide entrepreneurship training to prospective incubates. Thanks to EDII’s end-to-end backing in the form of training and support modules/curriculum/trainers, the young innovators receive reinforcement for their entrepreneurial journey.
